Needy children's homes & street children
Since many of our photographic safaris are in areas of poverty, we have had the idea of handing out food parcels/cooldrinks in exchange for photos.  Let us know your thoughts

opening shutters for ï»¿the depressed, weak & needy

Bloem Shelter is a Christian organization that is a registered NPO providing shelter for the homeless, catering for women, women with children, the elderly, men and frail persons.

Elderly people (especially those wearing hats) are slow in the morning traffic,  sometimes grouchy at the bank, whilst others are overly protective of their grandchildren, but how much do we really know about their struggles in life?  Some may surprise you with their wisdom, learned from decades of experience.

Ideas for photographic safaris

Food Parcels

Old age homes

We so frequently take for granted that we grew up in a middle class home. There was never any shortage of toys, a new iPad or a fancy dress for your matric farewell.  Ok, maybe some of us had it a little bit harder than others.  Still, there are hundreds of children in our city who don't have even the most basic necessities.

We are planning "photographic safari's" in Bloemfontein with the aim of documenting the living conditions that depressed, weak and needy people live in.  After all, "a picture says a thousand words!"

Our photographic safari's will encourage both amateur and professional photographers to participate in capturing photographs that will be posted on our website and Facebook page.  The aim is not only to have fun with photography, but to get involved with various community projects (Bloem Shelter, needy street children and children's homes, old age homes, etc.).  Fees attached to participating in photo walks will partially be used to cover catering costs, while the rest will go into these community projects.
